2008 Spring, Summer, & Fall Special Events

All prices listed are for a campsite for a family up to 5 (2 adults & 3 children) or for a non-family group of 4 adults, unless otherwise noted. The different rates listed are for:

SPRING

Spring weekends feature extended Sunday check-out of 6PM for sites and 4PM for rental units unless otherwise noted. For any of our spring weekends, join us a day early, or stay an extra night for just $30 (valid until 6/19/08). Reservations for all spring weekends (for departures on or before July 3) are accepted starting January 2, 2008 (as well as summer vacation stays of 7 nights or longer).

Please note that due to Easter Weekend falling in late March (prior to the water being on at all sites), there will be no Easter Weekend camping special in 2008.  We will resume our Easter Weekend in 2009, when Easter occurs on April 12.

Early Season Spectacular—April 4 through May 11:  Why wait until Memorial Day to start camping? Six weekends, including our Oldies Weekend and Mother’s Day/Bingo Bonanza, as well as your school’s April vacation are included. Weekend events feature Bingo, kickball, horseshoes, wagon rides, dances and plenty of activities for the whole family. A reminder that as school vacation weeks vary, scheduled activities are on the weekends only, and limited facilities are available during weekdays. The entire 6 weekends, with on-site unplugged storage, plus your April vacation week (limited facilities) for just $372-Tent / $452-WEC / $532-WECS. If RV plugged in during mid-week storage, add $10/week.

Spring Spruce-Up Weekend—April 4-6: Care to camp for FREE? Help us rake a couple of campsites and earn back your full site camping fees for the weekend in the form of a credit for any future stay (if staying in a rental unit, clean-up entitles you to a credit equal to a basic site fee). On this first weekend of the spring, our site rates are cut in half—just $30 for the whole weekend (or for either Fri or Sat night only). Please note that on this early-season weekend, there will be limited activities, including wagon rides, kickball, horseshoes, and Bingo. Depending on the winter thaw, site conditions could still be a bit muddy at this time of year. All sites, any hook-ups $30. RV Rentals $178 / Park Models $198.

April Saver Weekends—April 11-13, April 18-20 & April 25-27: These weekends in April feature family activities such as Bingo, wagon rides, kickball and more. Horseback trail rides and pony rides are also offered, as well as a Saturday night dance. (Swimming pools and whirpool spas open in May). $52-Tent / $68-WEC / $84-WECS / $178-RT / $198-PM. Ask about our additional discounts for groups and camping clubs.

"Oldies But Goodies" Weekend—May 2-4: Our Saturday night dance with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame oldies group, The Platters, as well as the first 2008 appearance of “The Outriggers”, while an Oldies Karaoke Contest will reward our top singer with a $100 gift certificate. Join us for sack races, 3-legged races, a Tug-of-War, psychedelic sixties T-shirt tie-dyeing and an old-fashioned picnic with old-fashioned prices, including hot dogs for 50 cents, burgers or an ice cream kiddy cone for $1. Mother’s Day/Bingo Bonanza—May 9-11: Activities on this fun-filled weekend include a Champagne Dance for Mom, several great Bingo sessions, a free Mother’s Day breakfast for Mom (one free breakfast per site), and many other activities for all ages help the family celebrate Mom’s special day. Our first “Mother’s Day Raffle” will be awarded, with a $2500 cash prize. Each weekend reservation receives a ticket, and additional tickets may be purchased…proceeds support the SIDS Network. Carnival Weekend—May 16-18: This fun-filled weekend includes carnival games, climbing wall, inflatable challenges and other attractions, clowns, face painters, balloon artists, the return of hypnotist Steve Wronker, and a bonfire. All this, plus an egg toss, greased pole climb and many more activities for all ages. One of our most popular events, so please reserve early. $140-Tent / $156-WEC / $172-WECS / $318-RT / $378-PM / $454 Cabin

Memorial Day Weekend—May 23-26: Non-stop activities all weekend, with extended Monday check out. Always sold-out, so reserve soon. $261-Tent / $285-WEC / $309-WECS / $495-RT / $579-PM / $696-Cabin

School Picnics & Corporate OutingsAlthough we host picnics throughout the year, weekdays in late May and early June are our busiest times for hosting special events.  Call us to reserve YOUR date.  School picnic dates fill quickly, so call us ASAP!  We offer a scheduled program for your group, great menu options and special activities such as horseback trail rides and wagon rides. Campers joining us mid-week from late May through mid-June may encounter school picnics at those times.

31st Annual Bluegrass Festival—May 29—June 1:  Four days of world-class music!! Campsites and rentals fill quickly, so make your reservations early. Includes Thursday morning through Sunday 6PM. Please note that campsites for this weekend are ONLY available for festival attendees, and all members of your camping party who are 13 and older must purchase a festival pass (teenagers 13-17 are half price with a parent and children 12 & under are free). Each campsite reservation must be for at least 2 adults. Advance purchase festival passes (by May 26) are $100 per adult age 21 yrs & up (teens ½ price) for those reserving a site, a full weekend pass or for those who prefer general admission Camping in the Rough (2 choices in 2008!—our Ballfield Picking Lot--only first 60 spots at $60 per spot OR Free CIR—pass fee only. No ground fires, generators, or pets allowed, no hook-ups or picnic tables provided with any rough camping). Prices after May 26 and at the gate are $120 for an adult weekend pass (teens ½ price). Individual Day Visitor Passes for Thur, Fri, Sat or Sun may be purchased in advance, or at the gate. Confirmed performers include: Rhonda Vincent, The Grascals, The Greencards, Peter Rowan, Dry Branch Fire Squad, and more. During this weekend, our quiet hours in the ballfield CIR area are relaxed to allow non-amplified bluegrass picking and singing throughout the night. We love pickers! 12th Annual “Blast from the Bayou” Cajun/Zydeco Festival—June 5-8:  We are proud to host our 12th annual festival featuring the best music, food and dancing from the bayous of Louisiana. Our large wooden dance floors at two separate venues (including our newest dance floor in front of the main stage) offer plenty of room to dance to the bands and learn all the right moves from our dance instructors. Reservations run from anytime Thursday through 6PM on Sunday, and each campsite reservation must be for at least 2 adults, with no additional charge for children 12 & under. Please note that campsites for this weekend are ONLY available for festival attendees, and all members of your camping party who are 13 and older must purchase a festival pass (1/2 price for teens 13-20 with a parent). Festival camper passes are $95 per person (ages 21 & over—teens are ½ price) until June 1 ($115 per adult after June 1 and at the gate—teens are ½ price), and include free Camping in the Rough (no ground fires, generators or pets allowed; no hook-ups or picnic tables provided with CIR). Day Visitor passes may be purchased in advance (reduced rate), or at the gate (cash only). Authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine will be featured for sale by professional food vendors, and confirmed performers at this time include: Geno Delafose, Steve Riley, Chris Ardoin, Li’l Anne, Travis Matte, The Pine Leaf Boys Travis Matte, Dennis Stroughmatt and many more! Program and performers subject to change. If you are reserving for both Bluegrass & Cajun, please call early, as campsites fill quickly ($10 discount off site fee for Cajun if reserving for both weekends). Spring into Summer Weeks—June 8-13 & June 15-20:  Our off-season mid-week rate of $30 per night is still in effect for this transition from spring into summer, as well as discounted rates on RV, Park Model and Log Cabin rentals. Facilities, including the pools, will be open. The activity schedule for these weekdays will be limited, depending on how the school calendar is extended due to any winter snow days. Numerous school picnics will accompany our campers. Please note if you are arriving on Sunday, June 8 or Sunday, June 15, your specific site or rental may not be ready until 4PM, as we offer extended check-out on those weekends.

Father’s Day—June 13-15: This salute to Dad presents our 28th Annual Horseshoe Tournament with trophies for the top 3 pitchers, as well as a “Dads Only” softball game, and a free ice-cold draught beer for all dads who stop by the horseshoe tourney. A Saturday night family dance and much more. A Steak BBQ will be offered on Saturday for those who want to treat Dad to a fine dinner without having to lift a finger (just $12, including steak, potato and salad). Strawberry Harvest Weekend—June 20-22: One of our favorite weekends, with a Strawberry Dessert Contest (valuable prizes!), our Strawberry Daiquiri Dance and our 7th Annual “Little Miss Strawberry Park Pageant” (2 age divisions). With many families checking in on Sunday for our Sports Camp Week, Sunday check-out is extended until 2PM for sites and rentals. $166-Tent / $182-WEC / $198-WECS / $356-RT / $398-PM / $478-Cabin

SUMMER

Summer Events and Activities—Summer Events and Activities—During the summer (starting June 20), a full daily schedule of 30-35 planned and supervised activities are featured every day (see our sample summer activity schedule), including nightly entertainment such as Bingo, karaoke, pool-side dances, bonfires, hypnotists, magic shows, mimes, teen dances, and much, much more.

Summer Reservation Notes--As summer vacation sites fill up faster each year, please note that for summer site stays of less than 7 nights, we will begin taking reservations 2 months in advance. This includes any summer reservation with a departure after July 3, through Labor Day Weekend (summer rental requests of less than 7 nights are taken 1 month in advance). If reserving for a full week or longer, reservations begin January 2, 2008. Ask about our mid-week discount—reserve 4 nights, and the 4th night is ½ price (Sun-Thur or Mon-Fri reservations).
 

Sports Camp Week—June 22-27: The first full week of summer brings a full daily activity schedule at a discounted rate. If arriving on Sunday, June 22, check-in is anytime after 4PM, as our Strawberry Harvest Weekend offers extended check-out. In addition, our 21st Soccer Camp and our 11th Basketball Camp will be offered for boys and girls ages 7-15 Monday through Friday. Under the direction of accomplished high school coaches, these camps are open to campers and local athletes as well. Cost is $80 for one camp or $150 for both. Discounts for multiple members of the same family. Enrollment is limited—reserve early (registration form and more info) $220-Tent / $260-WEC / $300-WECS / $675-RT / $775-PM / $930-Cabin

Summer Kick-Off Weekend—June 27-29 Weekend sites may be reserved as early as January 2, while all July & August weekends are taken 2 months in advance. In addition, we are offering a “pre-4th of July” special for those departing on July 3, allowing reservations for either June 27-July 3 (6 nights for the price of 5) or the 4 nights of June 29 until July 3 at the 3-night rate.

July Fourth Weekend—July 3-6: We will be accepting reservations for vacation stays of 1 week or longer as of January 2, 2008, such as June 29 until July 6 (no breaking up of the holiday weekend with any site arrivals or departures on 7/4 or 7/5). For any holiday weekend reservation for less than 7 nights, we will begin accepting reservations 2 months in advance for sites, with a maximum of 2 sites together, and 1 month in advance for any remaining rental units. $261-Tent / $285-WEC / $309-WECS / $534-RT / $597 PM / $714-Cabin

Camper Appreciation Weekend—August 22-24: This weekend may be reserved as early as January 2 by our campers who make any other 2008 reservations (all other August weekends, including Labor Day, are taken 2 months in advance…as well as for those who do not have any other 2008 reservations). This regular rate weekend also features “The Outriggers”, an old fashioned picnic and the crowning of 2008 summer champions, with trophies and medals for events such as greased pole climb, egg toss, swim races and many more.

End of Summer Vacation Special—August 24-29: Reserve a site for this final summer vacation at a discounted rate. $220-Tent / $260-WEC / $300-WECS / $675-RT / $775-PM / $930-Cabin for the 5 nights of Sun-Fri…or reserve the full 8 nights of Aug. 24 through Labor Day for the regular summer weekly rate (including RV Rentals!), making the 8th night free! This is the final week of scheduled daily activities and entertainment.

Labor Day Weekend—August 29—Sept 1: A site from 1PM Friday until Monday, 6PM with non-stop activities all weekend. $261-Tent / $285-WEC / $309-WECS / $495-RT / $579-PM / $696-Cabin. Although we do not start taking reservations for the holiday weekend only until June 29, you may reserve your site as of January 2, 2008 if you are reserving for the full week, including the holiday weekend, or if you are also reserving Country Western Jamboree (Sept 5-7). Remember, you may reserve the 8 nights of Sunday, August 24 through Monday, September 1 for the regular summer weekly rate including RV rentals).

FALL

Fall weekends feature extended Sunday check-out of 6PM for sites and 4PM for rental units unless otherwise noted. For any of our fall special event weekends, join us a day early, or stay an extra night for just $30 (starting 9/1/08). Fall weekend reservations are accepted starting January 2, 2008.

Fall Spectacular—September 5-28: Includes camping for a family up to 5 on our Country Western Jamboree (featuring Lobsterfest—reserve meals by Sept 1), our Fall Flea Market/Bingo Bonanza, Fall Harvest Weekend and Halloween #1. Unplugged on site storage is included. $518-Tent / $574-WEC / $630-WECS. If RV plugged in during mid-week, add $10/week.

30th Annual Country Western Jamboree & Lobsterfest Dinner—September 5--7: An expanded musical schedule includes live country bands, line dancing, a Country Karaoke Contest and much more. Saturday will also feature our Lobsterfest Dinner, with lobster, corn, potato, dessert and drink for just $24 per person. Reservation payment must include any requested meals. Performers include The Luv-in-Country Band, The Hard Luck Aces, Westwind, dance instructor Steve Falk and more. All dinners must be paid by Sept 1. $146-Tent / $162-WEC / $178-WECS / $318-RT / $378-PM / $442-Cabin (not including lobster dinners).

Fall Flea Market and Bingo Bonanza—September 12-14: An encore presentation of one of our most popular weekends, a great time for Bingo fans of all ages. Great cash prizes, including our progressive jackpot prize for over $1000, and door prizes as well. This weekend also features the return of our Saturday Family Flea Market, with campers invited to bring items from home to peddle at their site (you take home the “leftovers”), as well as our “Scavenger Hunt”. $132-Tent / $148-WEC / $164-WECS / $298-RT / $338-PM / $406-Cabin.

Fall Harvest/Cash Raffle Weekend—September 19-21: A perfect time to visit local farms for apple picking, corn mazes and much more. A Saturday night bonfire and a fall dessert contest. In addition, our first “Fall Harvest Raffle” will be awarded, with a $5000 cash prize. Each weekend reservation receives a ticket, and additional tickets may be purchased. 4 Great Halloween Weekends-- Halloween #1 September 26-28; Halloween #2 Oct 3-5; Halloween #3 Oct 17-19; Halloween #4 October 24-26: October means Halloween at Strawberry Park! Be sure to make your reservations early, as Halloween becomes more and more popular every year. Tour our acclaimed haunted hall (if you dare), enter the pumpkin carving/decorating contest, and dress up to enter our costume contest. Prizes awarded for the best costumes in many categories, including kids, pre-teens, teens and adults, as well as the amazing group category. Site decorating winners receive hundreds of dollars in camping certificates, while entertainment includes a bonfire, hypnotist Steve Wronker, a teen dance, an adult dance (and costume contest!), Bingo and more. Columbus Day Weekend—October 10-13: A Columbus Day Dance, bonfire, teen dance and our 24th Annual Bocce Tournament highlight this great fall weekend. In addition, a Potluck Dinner is featured on Sunday, with prizes for the best entries. Includes from 1PM Friday until 6PM on Monday—full holiday weekend reservations only. Note: Columbus Day Weekend DOES NOT feature Halloween events or our Haunted Hall. $186-Tent / $210-WEC / $234-WECS / $429-RT / $498-PM / $597-Cabin

NOVEMBER OFF-SEASON SPECIALS

Fall Finale—Oct 31—Nov 2: Activity schedule includes horseshoes, kickball, and a Saturday night Bingo (last of the season). Please note that although the “true” Halloween falls on Friday night, this is NOT one of our 4 Halloween Weekends. $60 for any site/ $178-RT / $198-PM / $258-Cabin. No horseback/pony rides. Final weekend for any activities, the arcade and the Grill & Creamery, where all food items are half price, while they last.

Strawberry Park is open year round. Join the growing number of campers extending the season. Our off-season rate of $30 per night for any site applies. In winter, we offer heated restroom facilities open 24 hours a day. Fresh water is available year round, and a limited number of campsites offer winter water connections for long-term stays (the weekend of Nov 7-9 is final weekend of water on to all sites).
