2010 Spring, Summer, & Fall Special Events at Strawberry Park
All prices listed are for a campsite for a family up to 5 (2 adults & 3 children) or for up to 4 adults, unless otherwise noted.
The abbreviations for printed hook-ups & rates listed are:
Tent –Tent sites with no hook-ups    Kiddy Pool
WEC–Sites with water, electric and cable TV
WECS (full hook-ups)–Water, electric, cable TV and sewer
RT—On-site RV Rental Trailer (does not include CT 6% tax)
PM—Park Model Rental (does not include CT 6% tax)
Cabin—Log Cabin RV Rental (does not include CT 6% tax)

Reservations for all spring and fall weekends, as well as any summer vacation stay of 7 nights or more, may be made starting January 2, 2010 unless otherwise noted.  If your stay is for less than 7 nights during the peak summer season (any departure date after July 2 through Labor Day), we begin accepting those reservations based on the length of your stay. How many nights will you be camping? You may make your summer reservations the number of months in advance equal to the number of nights you are camping.  For instance, if you are staying 4 summer nights, you may reserve 4 months in advance of your arrival date, while summer weekends may be reserved 2 months in advance.

SPRING

Spring weekends feature extended Sunday check-out of 6PM for sites and 4PM for rental units unless otherwise noted.

Mid-Week Price Match Promise: In the spring, we offer discounted mid-week rates on sites and rentals starting at just $40/night. These are the lowest rates in the region…find a lower rate within 20 miles for similar hook-ups and we will match it (excludes Parks run by State of CT).

Stay for 3 consecutive spring weeknights and your 4th weeknight is FREE!! (valid until 6/18/10). Reservations for all spring weekends (and for all departures on or before July 2) are accepted starting January 2, 2010, as well as summer vacation stays of 7 nights or longer.

flower rockEarly Season Spectacular—April  1 through May 16: Why wait until Memorial Day to start camping?  Seven weekends, including our Oldies Weekend and Mother’s Day/Bingo Bonanza, as well as your school’s April vacation are included.  Weekend events feature Bingo, kickball, horseshoes, wagon rides, dances and plenty of activities for the whole family.  A reminder that as school vacation weeks vary, scheduled activities are on the weekends only, and limited facilities are available during weekdays.  The entire 7 weekends, with on-site unplugged storage, plus your April vacation week (limited facilities) for just $416-Tent / $496-WEC / $576-WECS. If  RV plugged in during mid-week storage, add $10/week or $50 for the package.

Easter Weekend—April 1-4: Easter Weekend features Egg Coloring, an Egg Toss, Easter Egg/Candy Hunt, and a Saturday night Bingo.  $64-Tent / $80-WEC / $96-WECS / $198-RT / $218-PM/ $298 Cabin. This weekend features Thursday night FREE. Spring Spruce-Up Weekend—April 9-11: Care to camp for FREE?  Help us rake a couple of campsites and earn back your full site camping fees for the weekend in the form of a credit for any future stay (if staying in a rental unit, clean-up entitles you to a credit equal to site fee).  On this weekend, our site rates are cut in half—just $40 for the whole weekend (or for either Fri or Sat night only).  Please note that on this early-season weekend, there will be limited activities, including wagon rides, kickball, horseshoes, and Bingo. All campsites, any hook-ups $40 for full weekend.  RV Rentals $198 / Park Models $218 / Cabins $298.

April Saver Weekends—April 16-18, April 23-25 & April 30-May 2: These 3 weekends feature family activities such as Bingo, wagon rides, kickball and more.  Horseback trail rides and pony rides are also offered, as well as a Saturday night dance. Mother’s Day/Bingo Bonanza & $2500 Raffle—May 7-9: Activities on this fun-filled weekend include a Champagne Dance for Mom, several great Bingo sessions, a free Mother’s Day breakfast for Mom (one free breakfast per site). Many other activities for all ages help the family celebrate Mom’s special day. Our annual “Mother’s Day Raffle” will be drawn, with a $1500 grand prize, and an additional $1000 awarded. Each weekend reservation and Spring Spectacular site receives a raffle ticket, and additional tickets may be purchased. Joey Dee & The Starliters

“Oldies But Goodies” Weekend—May 13-16: Dance the “Peppermint Twist” with the return of Joey Dee & The Starliters (featuring Bobby Valli & David Brigati) as well as the first 2010 appearance of “The Outriggers”. An Oldies Karaoke Contest will reward our top singer with a $100 gift certificate, and our 2nd Annual Classic Car Show, with a $25 future reservation credit for campers bringing a pre-1975 vehicle to display. Join us for sack races, 3-legged races, a Tug-of-War, psychedelic sixties T-shirt tie-dyeing and an old-fashioned picnic with old-fashioned prices, including hot dogs or an ice cream kiddy cone for $1, burgers for $1.50. 33rd Annual Bluegrass Music Festival—June 3-6: Four days of world-class music!!  Campsites and rentals fill quickly, so make your reservations early. Includes Thursday morning through Sunday 6PM. Please note that campsites for this weekend are ONLY available for festival attendees, and all members of your camping party who are 13 and older must purchase a festival pass (teenagers 13-17 are half price with a parent and children 12 & under are free).  Each campsite reservation must be for at least 2 adults. Advance purchase festival passes (by May 31) are $100 per adult age 21 yrs & up (teens ½ price) for those reserving a site, a full weekend pass or for those who prefer general admission Camping in the Rough (2 CIR choices—our Ballfield Picking Lot–only first 60 spots at $60 per spot OR Free CIR (festival pass fee only). No ground fires, generators, or pets allowed, no hook-ups or picnic tables provided with any rough camping).  Prices after May 31 and at the gate (cash only) are $120 for an adult weekend pass (teens ½ price). Individual Day Visitor Passes for Thur, Fri, Sat or Sun may be purchased in advance, or at the gate. Performers include:  Marty Stuart, Daily & Vincent, The Greencards, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Gibson Brothers, and more. During this weekend, our quiet hours in the ballfield CIR area are relaxed to allow non-amplified bluegrass picking and singing through the night. We love pickers! 14th Annual “Blast from the Bayou” Cajun/Zydeco Festival—June 10-13: We are proud to host our 14th annual festival featuring the best music, food and dancing from the bayous of Louisiana.  Our large wooden dance floors at two separate venues (including our newest dance floor in front of the main stage) offer plenty of room to dance to the bands and learn all the right moves from our dance instructors.  Reservations run from anytime Thursday through 6PM on Sunday, and each campsite reservation must be for at least 2 adults, with no additional charge for children 12 & under. Please note that campsites for this weekend are ONLY available for festival attendees, and all members of your camping party who are 13 and older must purchase a festival pass (1/2 price for teens 13-20 with a parent). Festival camper passes are $95 per person (ages 21 & over—teens are ½ price) until June 6 ($115 per adult after June 6 and at the gate—teens are ½ price), and include free Camping in the Rough (no ground fires, generators or pets allowed; no hook-ups or picnic tables provided with CIR).  Day Visitor passes may be purchased in advance (reduced rate), or at the gate (cash only). Authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine will be featured. Performers include: Geno Delafose, Steve Riley, and many more! School Picnics & Corporate Outings—Although we host picnicsAquacise throughout the year, weekdays in late May and early June are our busiest times for hosting special events.  Call us to reserve YOUR date.  School picnic dates fill quickly, so call us ASAP!  We offer a scheduled program for your group, great menu options and special activities such as water balloon tosses and wagon rides. Campers joining us mid-week from late May through mid-June may encounter some school picnics at those times

Spring into Summer Week—June 13-17: Our off-season mid-week site rate of $40 per night is still in effect for this transition from spring into summer, as well as discounted rates on RV, Park Model and Log Cabin rentals.  Facilities, including the pools, will be open. The activity schedule for these weekdays will be limited, depending on how long school calendars are extended due to any winter snow days. Numerous school picnics will accompany our campers.  Please note if you are arriving on Sunday, June 13, your specific site or rental may not be ready until 6PM, as we offer extended check-out on the festival weekend.

Little Miss StrawberryFather’s Day & Strawberry Harvest Weekend—June 18-20: Once every 7 years, the calendar combines two of our favorite weekends, with our 30th Annual Horseshoe Tournament with trophies for the top 3 pitchers, as well as a “Dads Only” softball game, and a free ice-cold draught beer for all dads who stop by the horseshoe tourney, as well as our Strawberry Dessert Contest (valuable prizes!), our Strawberry Daiquiri Dance and our 9th Annual “Little Miss Strawberry Park Pageant” (2 age divisions). 2010 summer weekly vacation rates at 2009 prices!!

rec centerSummer Events and Activities—During the summer (starting June 20), a full daily schedule of 30-35 planned and supervised activities are featured every day (see our sample summer activity schedule), including nightly entertainment such as Bingo, karaoke, pool-side dances, bonfires, hypnotists, magic shows, teen dances, and much, much more.

Summer Reservation Notes–As vacation sites fill up fasteThurs Night Bonfirer each year, please note that for summer site stays of less than 7 nights, for any reservations with a departure after July 2, through Labor Day Weekend, we begin accepting those reservations based on the length of your stay.  You may make reservations the number of months in advance equal to the number of nights you are camping.  For instance, if you are staying 4 nights, you may reserve 4 months in advance of your arrival date, while weekends may be reserved 2 months in advance. If reserving for a full week or longer, reservations begin January 2, 2010. Ask about our mid-week discount—reserve 4 or 5 nights, and the 4th night is ½ price (Sunday through Friday reservations July 11-Aug 27).

Summer Starter Week—June 20-25: The first week of summer brings a full daily activity schedule at a discounted rate, with our first summer bonfire, hypnosis show and much more. This week is typically our “Sports Camp” week, but due to the number of schools that have had their calendars extended into this week, our sports camps (soccer & basketball) are not being offered in 2010, and there may be a school picnic or two taking place for those schools who have had to adjust their “end date” due to some strange weather. If arriving on Sunday, June 20, check-in is anytime after 4PM, as that weekend offers extended check-out.  Mid-week nightly rates for this discounted week are $48-Tent / $56-WEC / $64-WECS / $139-RT / $159-PM / $199-Cabin

In addition, we are offering a “pre-4th of July” special for those departing on July 2, with reservations for the 5 nights of June 27 until July 2 at the 4-night rate.

July Fourth Weekend—July 2-5: We will be accepting summer reservations for vacation stays of 7 nights or longer as of January 2, 2010, such as July 2 until July 9 (no breaking up of the holiday weekend with any site arrivals or departures on 7/3 or 7/4). For July 4th weekend (Fri July 2 until Monday July 5), we will begin accepting reservations 3 months in advance (on April 2), with a maximum of 2 sites together. $270-Tent / $294-WEC / $318-WECS / $546-RT / $612 PM / $762-Cabin.  Extended holiday SITE check-out of 2PM.  Want a free night? End of Summer Vacation Special—August 29—Sept 3: Reserve a site for this last week of summer at a discounted nightly rate of  $48-Tent / $56-WEC / $64-WECS / $139-RT / $159-PM / $199-Cabin…or reserve the full 8 nights of Aug. 29 through Labor Day for the regular summer weekly rate (including RV Rentals!), making the 8th night free!  This is the final week of scheduled daily activities.

PillowLabor Day Weekend—Sept 3-6: A site from 1PM Friday until Monday, 6PM with non-stop activities all weekend  .  $270-Tent / $294-WEC / $318-WECS / $504-RT / $588-PM / $696-Log. Although we do not start taking reservations for the holiday weekend only until June 3, you may reserve your site as of January 2, 2010 if you are reserving for the full week, including the holiday weekend, or if you are also reserving Country Western Jamboree (Sept 9-12). 32nd Annual Country Western Jamboree & Lobsterfest Dinner—September 9–12: An expanded musical schedule includes live country bands, line dancing, a Country Karaoke Contest, a new Thursday night bonfire and much more. Saturday will also feature our Lobsterfest Dinner, with lobster, corn, potato, dessert and drink for just $24 per person.  Reservation payment must include any requested meals, and weekend includes Thursday night for FREE. Championship Weekend—Sept 17-19: This weekend features an old fashioned picnic and the crowning of our summer champions, with trophies, medals or t-shirts for events such as greased pole, egg toss, swim races and  more, as well as a bonus MUD WRESTLING EVENT.  $112-Tent / $128-WEC / $144-WECS / $248-RT / $278-PM / $338-Cabin

Fall Flea Market/Bingo Bonanza & $3500 Cash Raffle—September 24-26: An encore presentation of one of our most popular weekends, a great time for Bingo fans of all ages. Great cash prizes, including our progressive jackpot prize for over $1000, and door prizes as well. In addition, our “Fall Raffle” will be awarded, with a $2500 grand prize, and an additional $1000 in cash prizes awarded. Each weekend or Fall Spectacular reservation receives one free raffle ticket, and additional tickets may be purchased. While you don’t need to be present to win, join us for the excitement Sunday at noon. 4 Great Halloween Weekends– Halloween #1 Oct 1-3; Halloween #2 Oct 15-17; Halloween #3 Oct 22-24; Halloween #4 October 29-31: October means Halloween at Strawberry Park! Be sure to make your reservations early, as Halloween becomes more and more popular every year.  Tour our acclaimed haunted hall (if you dare), enter the pumpkin carving/decorating contest, and dress up to enter our costume contest.  Prizes awarded for the best costumes in many categories, including kids, pre-teens, teens and adults, as well as the amazing group category.  Site decorating winners receive hundreds of dollars in camping certificates, while entertainment includes a bonfire, hypnotist Steve Wronker, a teen HW Catdance, an adult dance, magic show, Bingo and more.  Be prepared for plenty of trick-or-treaters on Saturday evening! $166-Tent / $182-WEC / $198-WECS / $438-RT / $498-PM / $598-Cabin.  Be sure to indicate which HW weekend you are reserving. Columbus Day Weekend—October 8-11:  A Columbus Day Dance, bonfire, teen dance and our 26th Annual Bocce Tournament highlight this great fall weekend.  In addition, a Potluck Dinner is featured on Sunday, with prizes for the best entries. Strawberry Park is open year round.  Join the growing number of campers extending the season. Our off-season rate of $40 per night for any site applies. Halloween #4 (Oct 29-31) is the final weekend for any activities, arcade, or Grill & Creamery. Through the winter, we offer heated restroom facilities open 24 hours a day.  Fresh water is available year round, and a limited number of campsites offer winter water connections for long-term stays (the weekend of Nov 5-7 is final weekend we expect water to be on to all campsites, although it may remain on later, weather permitting).
